HEMA SCORECARD
HEMA Scorecard is your one stop guide for what is happening this weekend. Please check your own schedule (which will include your volunteering shifts) ahead of the weekend.
Volunteering shifts may change, so please check throughout the weekend as well.
To check this:

Go to Custom Schedules
Go to Individual Schedules to see your personal schedule.
The overall schedule is also available under Event Information -> Schedule
On the day, we’ll be posting any live updates, including delays, on our Live Updates page.
Livestreaming will be available on the London Historical Fencing Club Youtube channel.
STAFFING
Massive thanks to those who have volunteered. This event could not run without you. If there are any issues with any shifts given please speak to us. There is a Whatsapp group for event volunteers if you have any questions or need updates.
Table Staff
All table staff will be using HEMA scorecard. There will be a quick briefing at 8.45am on Saturday to deal with any questions about how to use HEMA scorecard. Please watch this video (kindly provided by the Wessex League) video here before the event.
SOCIALS
We’ve got a booking at The White Horse Pub in Wembley on Saturday 2nd May, from 20:00 onwards. Food will be available to buy at the venue.
We don’t have any official socials planned on Friday or Sunday, but we’re expecting to find a pub and go there. Let us know if you’re interested!
OPEN SPARRING
On Monday 4th, we'll be running an Open Sparring session at the London Historical Fencing Club venue in Vauxhall, which is included in your LHO ticket. We’ll kick off at 11:00, and continue until 16:00. After that, we’ll be heading to the Fentiman Arms for a drink and dinner. If you’re interested in coming along, please RSVP here!
LOGISTICS
To enable you to be at your piste in time to fence, please arrive at least 60 minutes before you are due to fight.
Sword Checks
All swords must be checked and approved prior to fencing. Sword checking station is at the top of the stairs where you come in. Please put a tag on your sword with your name.
Please refer to our rules page for further details.
Tipping
All rapiers must be tipped with thermoplastic or a bullet casing, and many other swords will require tipping if they have a small tip area. Best practice for tipping with thermoplastic can be found in the article here. Some thermoplastic will be available on the day but this takes time to set. Please tip in advance where possible.
Equipment Storage
Your kit can be left at the venue over the weekend. Kit storage is to the left of the hall as you come up the stairs from the main entrance.
No kit is to be left in the hall during tournaments due to overcrowding.
Changing rooms and showers are available on the right of the hall at the back of the building. Female changing rooms are on the ground floor and male changing rooms are located upstairs on the first floor.
All kit is left at its owner’s risk and LHO do not accept liability for any equipment lost over the weekend.
Photography
We will have photographers, live streams and video being taken throughout the weekend so please be aware. If you are taking personal content please ensure your equipment is clear of the pistes, fencers and referees, or it will be removed.
Location & Access
The London HEMA Open will be held at the Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill in Wembley, London. There is parking on site in front of the building. The vehicle entrance is on King’s Drive, just off Forty Lane.
Your nearest tube station is Wembley Park and is serviced by the Jubilee Line and Metropolitan Line.
There is an ASDA supermarket across the road from the venue. For our internationals please note that English Supermarkets of this size have shorter opening hours on Sundays from 11:00-17:00.
